LILAC by Jackson Used

24 June - 09 July

Directed by Shane Anthony With Kate Skinner and Jack Angwin

Diana stood alone at the funeral, watching her friend weep as her mother was buried. George hid in the ladies’ bathroom, clutching a vodka soda, shame sinking into his stomach. This is how she found him. Drawn together, they embark on a passionate and consuming love affair, overcome with great suffering and addiction, bound by their collective gravity. Each knows with cruel certainty that they were made for each other, but is that worth the cost of persistence?

Lilac is a powerful, surreal portrait of loss and the aftershocks of trauma. Navigating the interior life of the characters with ambitious, imagistic worlds set free of time, this work interrogates the truth of love, the closeness of our dreams, and the romance of grand gestures.
