After two years of disruption the KXT STORYTELLERS FESTIVAL is back
KXT Storytellers is a pop-up celebration of playwrights and words, the presentation of full-length plays, small pieces of writing, and special events launched and created by Joanna Erskine. The festival has showcased 51 plays, presented by 34 directors working with more than 120 actors.
Storytellers is a writing festival that consistently leads to new plays on Australian stages.
Productions of scripts that had their first showing as part of Storytellers include: Omar and Dawn and Son of Byblos by James Elazzi, Orange Thrower by Kirsty Marillier, Lilac by Jackson Used, Dead Skin by Laneikka Denne, You’re Not Special by Sam O’Sullivan and The Park by Simon Thomson. Plays have continued development as part of STC’s Rough Drafts, and have been programmed at Griffin, NToP, Belvoir and KXT. These are extraordinary results from 2 short seasons, thanks to Jo Erskine’s skill and hard work.
